Context

With the addition of Urban sports to the Olympic Games programme, many Chinese cities are looking to develop their sports infrastructure and provide elite level facilities that will enable the next generation of urban sports stars to train and compete.

Nanjing, a city of 8 million inhabitants situated 1 hour from Shanghai, recently asked Hurricane to create a facility that would enable them to be a pioneer in the training and development of future Chinese urban sports stars.

Agency mission

Hurricane Parks was tasked by the city of Nanjing, to create a BMX Park of UCI international standards. The indoor BMX Park design was inspired by major international competitions and will be used by the Jiangsu Province BMX team to train and prepare for national and international events.
This huge facility is also open to the public and features a learning space where riders can try new tricks in complete safety. In addition, there is a climbing wall, which was built in partnership with Entre-Prises.
